Slipsil Application
SLIPSIL, the new generation sealing plugs developed by BEELE Engineering, is designed to provide fire safe gas and water tight seals for transits carrying single or multiple plastic or metal pipes. . The plugs can be used for steel, stainless steel, copper, GRP and plastic pipes and are approved for masonry, steel and aluminium partitions in Construction, marine and offshore applications.
Slipsil, along with the other CSD Sealing Plugs, consists of 2 equal parts that allows them to be inserted after all pipes or cables in a conduit are installed.
Compared with other sealing plugs the SLIPSIL plug is even easier to install. The new design of the plug simplifies the installation and improves the tightness. The plugs can already be exposed to high pressures immediately after installation.
Due to the new design much wider tolerances of ducted pipes and conduit sleeves can be adopted.
Using SLIPSIL offers advantages for the builder, the installer and the owner of the installation. The innovative design of the plug allows the shortest possible sleeve length for fire rated penetrations, and therefore reduces welding and cutting time.
With SLIPSIL the necessary insulation is reduced to an absolute minimum, while the plug can be used for all types of metallic and plastic pipes. That simplifies material handling and reduces the costs of storage. Installing the plug is extremely simple.
The SLIPSIL plugs can be installed in minutes and do not require any bolting or other mechanical outfitting. SLIPSIL plugs create no mechanical stress and avoid corrosion problems.

The flange of the sealing plug is designed in a way that even after installation they are easily recognisable. The plugs have a special profiling, the serrated profiles at the outside have an interspacing and are levelled and the inner ribs are flattened and interconnected.
SLIPSIL offers the advantage of having one rubber type for most applications.
SLIPSIL sealing plugs are widely used in:
- Chemicals and petrochemicals industry
- Utilities industry Manufacturing Industries
- Power generation
- Building and construction
- Shipbuilding and renovation
- Offshore installations
Plastic pipes
Plastic pipes of, for example, sanitation systems, are a potential source of serious problems in case of fire.
Most plastic pipes start to soften at a temperature of about 75 °C and ignite at a temperature of about 140 °C.
This means that, should a fire occur, a hole will be formed by the softened or combusted plastic pipe, allowing fumes and flames to spread freely. To meet this problem, BEELE Engineering has developed the crusher SLIPSIL plug system.
Features and benefits
The fire safe and gas and water tight SLIPSIL sealing plugs are designed to provide an excellent fire stop. The major benefits of using this fire-stop system include:
